Basis for Conversion (14 CFR §61.75)

ICAO 회원국(한국 등)의 유효한 조종사 면장을 기반으로 미국 FAA Private Pilot Certificate(PPL)를 발급받을 수 있습니다.
*별도의 비행 시험 없이 서류 검증과 인터뷰만으로 진행

You can obtain a US FAA Private Pilot Certificate (PPL) based on a valid license from an ICAO member state.
*Document verification and interview only, no flight test.

권한의 종속성 (유효기간 연동)

Dependency of Privileges (Validity Link)

발급된 FAA 면장은 한국 원본 면장의 유효성에 종속됩니다.
한국 면장이나 신체검사증명(Medical)이 만료되면,
미국 FAA 면장의 효력도 즉시 정지됩니다.

The FAA license is dependent on the original Korean license.
If the original license or Medical expires,
the FAA license privileges cease immediately.

★ 중요: 등급 전환 제한 (CPL 불가)

★ Important: No CPL Conversion

한국에서 CPL(사업용)을 소지하고 있더라도,
이 절차(§61.75)를 통하면 초기에는 무조건 PPL(자가용) 등급으로만 발급됩니다.
(FAA CPL 취득을 원할 경우, 별도의 시험 필요)

Even with a Korean CPL, this procedure (§61.75)
will only issue a PPL (Private) rating initially.
(Full FAA CPL requires a separate written and flight test)

▶ IR(계기비행) 자격 추가 방법
별도의 비행 시험 없이, FAA 외국 조종사 계기 지식 시험(IFP) 합격만으로 FAA 면장에 추가 가능합니다.

▶ 무제한(Standalone) FAA PPL/CPL 취득
한국 면장에 종속되지 않는 완전한 FAA 면장 취득을 원한다면, 신기 취득과 동일하게 (필기+비행경력+실기) 전 과정을 거쳐야 합니다.

⚠️ 핵심 유의사항
1. Verification Letter 수령 전까지 항공권 예약을 자제하세요.
2. 원본 면장과 모든 증빙 서류를 반드시 지참하세요.
3. Verification Letter는 발급 후 6개월간만 유효합니다.

▶ How to Add IR (Instrument Rating)
Can be added to FAA license simply by passing the FAA IFP (Instrument Rating Foreign Pilot) knowledge test, without a flight test.

▶ Obtaining Standalone FAA PPL/CPL
To obtain a full FAA license independent of your Korean license, you must complete the entire process (Written + Experience + Practical) just like a new applicant.

⚠️ Key Precautions
1. Avoid booking flights until you receive your Verification Letter.
2. Always carry your original license and all supporting documents.
3. Verification Letters are only valid for 6 months after issuance.
